On January 28th 1980 at 8p.m. Nick saw the light of the day at WCA-hospital in Jamestown/New York. Because of the financial programs of the Carter family and the fact that Bob has to give up his job because of a gastric disease, Bob and Jane decide to found a little famiily company with the help of Nick’s grandparents. They lease the bar-restaurant “Anthony’s” at a main road of Westfield/New York, renovate it and call it “Yankee Rebel”. It’s one of a few Clubs in which disco music is played, and within short time it is the hippest club in town. At the age of 2 Nick is the sweetheart of all regular guests – with his stage performances and his baby-babble he fascinates everyone. As you can see, Nick is endowed with music from birth. Although the club develops very well it becomes clear to Bob and Jane, that they don’t want to live that way anymore – they come never come to sleep before 5 or 6 a.m. and have not much time for little Nicky.

They decide to pack their bags and move to Florida in a caravan. For a time they live as gypsies. Nick doesn’t have his own bed – he has to sleep in a sleeping bag. His parents go to work rotational to to cater for the most necessary. When they have a bit of money the nanny steals it from them and they have to start over. The have no other opportunity than go back to New York.

With the help of a friend and the financial assistance of Nick’s grandpa the Carters buy a big, nice house in Victorian style and get the permission to conduct a home for the aged called “The Pleasant View Retirement Home”. Nick gets his own room ans Jane gets pregnant – Bobby Jean Carter is born on January 12th 1982. The elder people in “The Pleasant View” become grandparents to the kids.

Sometime Bob and Jane get the urge to live at the sunny south and so the decide to move to Florida again. At the golf of Tampa they open another seniors-residence – the “gardenvilla”. From now on Nick and BJ live a happy childhood without any worries. A few years later (1995) Leslie is born and the Carter family moves to a cottage opposite of the residence; no.216 becomes Nick’s new home, there they make plans for his carreer. Early Nick’s parents recognize his talent and begin to nurture it and be supprotive of him as much as they can. He gets roles in many commercials and series. Besides he also gets roles in “Edward Scissorhands”, “Electra” und “The Judgement”.

On December 7th 1987 the twins Angel and Aaron (who is one minute younger) see the light of the day. Nick is really happy to have a brother – from the first moment the two of them are inseparable. Nick is an idol for Aaron and because of that it’s no wonder that Aaron also gains ground in showbiz.

At the age of nine Nick sings a heartrending version of “Bridge over troubled water” to his mother Jane; she recognizes immediately how huge his talent is. Because of that he gets vocal lessons with the famous vocal coach June Daniels and has dancing lessons at “Jackie’s studio”.

At the age of 11 he gets 2nd place in a national talent competition with his version of “Great balls of fire” from Jerry Lee Lewis. But some people begrudge him his success: he becomes an outsider at school. Nick’s not argued out of his goal and works hard for his dream. Additionally he discovers his passion about computer games. Besides he plays the piano and drums. On one of his countless auditions Nick meets AJ McLean and Howie Dorough. The three of them become friends and all of us know how the story goes on.
